Hi.

I'm new to the forum and this is my 1st post!

I have just acquired the car of my dreams, CL 500 (W215) W-reg 2000.

It has the Comand 2.5 unit with a CD changer in the boot, sat nav, and television unactivated (as no TV tuner).

Whats the best way to listen to MP3s?

I first thought I could simply replace the existing 6-CD autochanger with an CD/MP3 autochanger (eg. Sony) but have since found out that Comand units use D2B fibre optic connections and therefore may require complex and expensive adaptors.

Is there an 'auxillary' input on the Comand 2.5?

Could I utilise the unused 'TV' input with a CD/MP3 player or even a DVD unit that plays MP3s?

I am not interested in iPod kits or 'FM transmitter' kits (unless its my only option!)

Any help much appreciated, Thanks!

Paul.

i have competion sound system in my bmw, id recommend use your aux in for say a slimline panasonic dvd unit, which will play most formats, and you dont have to tamper with the origanl system and its removable.

although try a search for software on your mb system, because they can change the units to multi region,tv permanent etc in bmw systems so id guess the same service is available for mb.
