Decided to do the brim to brim test on my 2011 C207 350cdi 265bhp, but mapped to 300 bhp. Filled up on the 12th Nov, cost £90. Did 291 miles, fuel light came on today 24th Nov so filled up again another £90. Based on my maths that's 23 MPG and monthly fuel costs woul be approx £225. It that good, bad, average.

You want a V8 petrol with so few miles per month…;)
I’m averaging >32mpg for >80K miles in my V6 3.0 petrol…:D:p
Your mileage (and costs) are small enough to warrant a big V8 (whilst you still can)

Don't forget Russ, that quoted milage is only 12 days. So a month would be approx 725 miles a month.

How many miles have you covered in total? (And over what time period)

Same car but 2009, also 300 bhp. Averaged 30mpg over 2 years.
I did tend to drive it like I stole it a fair bit though.

When I was doing significant mileage I saw 38mpg or thereabouts in every car I owned, petrol or diesel made little difference.

I’d say that’s bad for any 350 even if driving a bit brisk. Considering these things get an easy late 30’s around town I’d expect low 30’s at worst.

My Volvo T5 always averaged approximately 32mpg tank averages (brim to brim), when I was doing a 1.000 miles a week and that was with, some enthusiastic daily licks dealing with the moronic way people around that Berkshire/London area drive.

Don't know how you manage to get late 30s just knocking about town, but good luck to you. :)

but I think your low 20's is poor compared to my ML. I can easily get mid/high 20's around town from my ML350 which is obviously heavier than your car & is permanent 4x4 .... and the aerodynamics of a brick. The best mpg I've had was 36mpg on a motorway run though a lot of it was at 50/60mph due to road works etc
I can easily make it do low 20's too though .... lol

Yep, that's why I started this thread, just wanted to know what other 350 cdi's were getting. Does seem mine's a bit low.
The car is serviced regularly and the car is pampered as you know, don't drive Like a Nun either. Still low though.

Does seem poor mpg for a E350cdi coupe my E350cdi estate varies between 27-46mpg but anything is possible if you live in heavily congested area

My SL63 does better than that Tony. I can do 29 mpg on a long journey of mixed driving. Something wrong somewhere.

My R350cdi does better than that and it's a big heavy bus. I think the average over the past 10k miles is around 30mpg and I rarely do any local trips at less than 28mpg.

Long runs sees it at high 30s most the time. I think I averaged over 37 on the last run to Winchester and back.

So general consensus is, quite poor MPG then, wonder why? like I said it's well serviced and it's driving great (kiss of Death). It's booked in for an A service on Dec 8th, I'll mention it. :)

Probably not the best time of year to do a mpg check if the car is running well and maintained as you say I’d monitor it and try different fuel brands and see what warmer weather brings. Are you sure it’s not due to the remap?

Nope can't be sure it's not the remap. It's running like a dream and is very responsive! I'm not unduly worried about the 23 ish MPG, just curious what others are getting. As you say though cold weather's not the best time to test your MPG. And with 300 bhp and 720Nm torque, your tempted to put your foot down quite a bit. :oops:o_O:)
