Multi function display clk

Hi folks, I have had my 1999 320 clk convertable for 2 weeks now and can't work out how the multi function display works. It does not have the trick streering wheel but has small buttons on the dash h m 0 on the right(hours- minits- trip reset ) + - R on the left but all I can get is the next service milage. Also the manual shows the draft deflector in both rear seat (horizontal) and another vertical position but mine won't reach the vertical one. Any one help please
