Must have's in a Merc.

What's your must have's when choosing your Mercedes?
Personally when I was looking for mine, they where,
White.
V6.
Pan Roof.
Harmon Kardon.
Leather (Artico) not Black.

If I do ever swop, to a newer Merc, they would be.
White or Silver.
V6, Diesel or Petrol.
Pan Roof.
Burmiester.
Leather (Artico) not Black.
And definitely Ambient lighting.
Oh, and goes without saying,
Service History.
Reasonable milage.
Minter or near as damn it.

As this is the first Merc I’ve owned, I didn’t really have a ‘must have’ list when I bought it, only that it needed to have more than 150bhp and easily achieve 50+mpg.
However, now I’ve owned mine for a few years, if I was to buy another there’s a few things that never used to bother me, but now need...
1. Auto transmission (mines a manual)
2. Xenon or LED lights
3. Petrol or V6 diesel. The 4 pot diesel is far too noisy for my liking.
4. Intelligent lighting
5. Leather interior. Don’t like my half fake leather, feels cheap.
6. Something other than grey or silver. My last 4 or 5 cars have been grey or silver.

Climate, cruise, and Bluetooth needs to be added to my list. And hill start assist This is the first car I’ve owned with hill start assist, and it’s definitely something I can’t live without now. I’m getting lazy in my old age

i think I'm quite realistic , so I I wouldn't spec much over what was standard on a CL , lets be honest , does anyone use all of it anyway ?? though I'm glad this CL has Bose instead of the overated and unreliable HK , think AMG kit would be about the only thing really as they usually look that bit nicer than standard cars

Love Bose, shame they abandoned it, HK is not as good as the Bowers & Wilkins in my Jag or the Mark Levinson in my Lexus but has plenty of punch for top down motorway driving but that may be down to the footwell sub woofers built into the SL chassis..

Mercedes seem to be going backwards with their ICE lately from what I am reading about the Burmeister.

Hill start assist? .... that's what you use your left foot for . I'd had my R Class for ages before I realised it had it.

Hill start assist? .... that's what you use your left foot for . I'd had my R Class for ages before I realised it had it.

Mine is a manual. My left foot gets plenty of use.
Auto transmission is on my must haves for the next purchase

Not fussed about ICE would sooner listen to the engine

In fact that car exists on the lot but currently too pricey for me - don’t like those silly red seat belts though
