C200 Classic reg:15/01/1999 ex-demo and one other owner.
Had only done 19,700 miles after 3 and a half years, which is why I bought it. :)

I've had the car since late July and it is still under MB warranty.
The dealership has been trying to cure the steering vibration since August! (Vibration was between 65 and 75mph)
The tyres have been balanced (twice), and now replaced, alignment checked, etc.
Lastly they replaced the front discs four weeks ago, but since then it has only got worse. (Vibration is now between 30 and 90 mph)

Anybody got a suggestion as to what they/I do next!

Have they changed the steering damper?

Just an idea ...

I had a very similar problem when I bought my car, a 2000 C220 Cdi Classic.

Tried balancing, new tyres. I rotated the rims, fron to rear and the problem faded, swaped them back and it re-appeared.

I wanted to upgrade to alloys, and did. That was the end of my problems.

My guess is the last owner had bent the steel rim on the NS front, which is often not picked up when the wheels are balanced, and may even lead to them not being balanced correctly. Try the spare, see if that helps.

Also, a long shot, but try removing the plastic trims.

Or buy alloys!
