This is looking good! I'm getting excited!

Injector #3 is rusted and seized. The needle moves up and down freely - the part that presses against the spring had locked. I've cleaned it up but the steel is pitted a bit so I'll look to get it replaced. The needle is stainless and there was no rust on the inside just the outside of the parts. Should work for a bit.

Injector #4 will not come apart. I've used my body weight and then some against a 25cm spanner and it's laughing at me. :lol:

The rest are ok.

Thanks everyone that's the problem solved.

I have at least one failed injector, they are being tested at a service center tomorrow.

The smoking has abated. :D

And the Merc lives on. So nearly scrapped. ;)

I'll take some later today. It's covered in oil marks and looks like a mad max prop.

I had some bad news ...

All injectors are tired, but one is worse than the others and is probably the cause of the knocking. Any recommendations for new nozzles?

And my rear bearings are shot which is a big expensive job to replace. Drat.

This damn 250D is a money pit. :rolleyes:
