My car speaks German

Hi All, Can anybody advise on the following: WHen my car reads my sms messages to me it reads it out in German. Ive tried the obvious options and ensured the settings are in English but it still reads sms in German. I drive a SL500 R230 - -Perhaps Television might be the man for this one?
