My E300 TD has developed a stutter

My 1997 E300 TD has started to stutter when I lift of the accelarator and the revs drop. It has been serviced and no fault was found.

Has anyone heard of this before?

If you have, can you let me know what the problem is and how to solve it.

I don't quite understand what you mean. Can you be more specific, i.e. engine or driveline?

Thanks for the response.

I am not technical, however no problem showed up during the service, the only thing that they suggested was that it was somthing to do with the pressure dropping in the turbo when I take my foot off the accelerator.

The symtom is that when I am driving slowly ie in town and I am slowing down to stop, the engine starts to make a putting/stuttering noise just before it settles down to idle speed.

I am having the exhaust checked out this week to see if there is a small hole somewhere, but I am no further on in finding a reason and solution.
