My first Merc - Wow what took me so long!

Hi, well I took the plunge and - after years of looking longingly at the Merc in front - I am the proud owner of 55 plate C320 CDI Sport estate! OMG! Didn’t think a diesel could scare me this much - should have done this years ago!

As a new Merc owner I'd like to pick the brains of the experts in this forum for advice on what to watch out for and any care and maint advice etc. There must be centuries of experience here!

I have a niggle that has raised its head over the weekend (twice). The kickdown failed (all the way down button press) which when I pulled over turned the car off then back on disappeared. Hope this is not bad sign. My car has 48K first reg in Feb 06 and will need an 'A' service in 4K.

Do you mean that you stamped on the accelerator and nothing happened or that you lost power ??

Mark A, Thanks for the reply, no power loss just no drop ingear, usual thump in the back. peddle goes down - no acceleration just a very gradual speed increase.

No, when it next goes in for servicing, the MB dealer will do it as a up-date, well thats if it hasn't already been done!!!
