My Key Fob Doesn't Work C200

Hi Guys, Can someone help please? I have a 1997 C200 Auto, it has a 1 button remote fob. it did work the central locking until the batteries went dead, when i changed them i found that the fob no longer works and i have to use the key to unlock the car, it starts OK. does anyone know how to programme these remotes to these cars? Many Thanks guys. Marty

To program remote,

Sit in car
Point fob at RV mirror
Press button twice in quick succession
Put key in ignition within 30 seconds and turn key to position 2, that is all dash lights come on.
