My mercedes w124 300te has starting issues!

Success! The car didn't even cut out after 10 minutes, it was still running for 25 minutes. I haven't even driven it, so hope to God it doesn't break down!

I gave the spark plug leads a good clean using a wire brush too. Used some silicone cream and rubbed it over the spark plug leads to stop any future cracking in the rubber.

I changed the plastic engine cover that says mercedes benz, as I brought one from ebay a while back.

Now I'm waiting for service parts, that's next!

Well done! It looks like your w124 is in Almondine red as well, one of the best of the vast array of 80's/90's colours imho.

It's definitely a red colour! I just drove it for 5 miles, including the petrol station and I swear to God, the drives even smoother! It drives beautiful! I was worrying it may just cut out.

Very nice. So many great colours available back then.

Bornite is another amazing one, kind of like a bronze/brown colour. My w201 is in pearl grey metallic.

I think it is actually 513-bordeaux red..... There will be a plate on the panel by the radiator stating what it is Zahid - But a lovely looking car anyway! I used to have a w124/300-24. Also a G Reg. But a Black Saloon.

You could be right on the colour of the OP's s124, i thought it was 512 garnet red (almadine red) (almandinrot) but there are so many possibilities.

I was just going by memory. Back in the nineties nearly every metallic red Merc I saw was Bordeaux Red... I always likened to BMW's Ruby Red Metallic.

I owned 3 bmw 2002's back in the 90's (when they were worthless) so love a sharknose BMW, but boy do they know how to rust.
