yes going it alone, I dont want to get too involved in the oily bits so to speak, I want to concentrate more on prep and repairs on classics to sell on, I have several peachy early to mid 90's MB's that need a good clean and minor electrical work to get them going again.
I can deal with any mechanical issue but I just dont want to get involved in engine and gearbox replacements, I have access to a lift in the next unit and also additional mechanics I can call on if need be. But I want to concentrate more on the faults that MB dealers cant fix.

I also have diagnostics at hand so I can maintain my fleet of MB's and also charge to do others, I have trade discount on gen MB parts from the local MB dealer so I can supply the parts I need, I tend to find ECP's tend to send wrong parts most of the time, once I asked for front break pads for a MB and got Renault brake shoes for a VAN!!! that was the day I decided to go direct to MB!!!

I would suggest put some typical costs for the works on the web. Also ensure you are on the google search path.

Jibbo,

nice one on the new business venture mate! May even trawl up to Cambridgeshire to use you at some point when I get my Merc back...

No work on other brands... Porsches and Rangies perhaps?

Cheers Ricco, no I thought about specialising in Porsche especially in the cambs area as there is only the main dealer and nothing else.
I costed up the Porsche side of things and I needed about £200,000 to get myself up and running.
Rnage Rovers theres no point too many nutters out there that can fix them themselves and I tend to find that if it breaks it gets let broken.

There is Mercedes competion in my area and im not trying to take anything from them business wise I want to take the business they cant fix.
I bought a nice w124 1991 less than 94k on the clock and in great condition all round even comes with new brakes, for sale because the alarm is causing a problem, well its not the alarm its more likely the ignition module or relay fault. but at the price its an easy fix and a good profit maker.

@jib

Site looks good. Like the way you've used jpeg images for the text, though would be a bit concerned that web spiders may not pick up on them?

I know you've put the *meta name="keywords"* line in, but I'd be tempted to add a couple of lines of plain text.
Even if it's in the same colour (#CCCCCC) as the background, at least the robots will recognise and index it. ;)

BTW, shame I'm not near Cambridge as I'd be a regular customer probably :)

Thanks for the input, sad as I am, I used to be a web developer to a fashion, 4 years down the line I have to relearn everything.

I will be adding invisible links all over the site, mainly key words pinched directly from the MB uk site so if anyone types anything related to MB i will be there, also hidden links for local MB specialists.

I will register mercanic.co.uk in the next few days and start uploading the site and get all the meta tag descriptions sorted.
Thanks for the input so far chaps.
