Seemingly the radio unit is dead, completely out of the blue !
Sat nav, bluetooth, cd etc all work perfect but radio is dead.
Do I have any options ie possible repair or maybe MB software update from main dealer !!
Any advice much appreciated as I want to sell the car but need this fixed.
I can see used units circa £300 on eBay but risky obviously.
Silly little problem stopping me from selling which is most frustrating.
Thanks in advance

I would pull it out & check you have voltage going into the radio input first. Unusual for a radio to completely die with no display at all.
Is the CD player part of the radio?

I assume its a command unit from the descption. They need coding to the car.
A dealer will say replace entire unit and charge you also 130 for diags.

Get checking as much as you can first (fuses, wiring, antennae etc) then go from thier.

You say the radio unit is dead but you still have CD, satnav, etc... So how much is dead? Just the sound? Is the display still working? Does it still show radio stations but you just can't hear them? Have you tried DAB, FM and MW to find if any of them work?

Thanks, yes no sound or visual at all from the radio button, its as if there is not radio in existance but everything else works fine, CD and display, sat nav bluetooth for podcasts fully showing up etc etc.

Thanks for this also, my independent chap did suggest any second hand unit would need coding and also suggested asking MB for any software updates but I wouldn't have thought the radio would go blank because of an update.
Any yes, MB will want a hefty diagnostic fee before suggesting I should spend £1500 on a new head unit.
