Hi, So we have been living in Spain on and off for 12 years now, the 'off' was when we used to 'winter' in Florida where we owned a condo.......a Camaro Z28 and a BMW 3.2 Z3 however last year we sold up in Florida and now live full time in Murcia Spain, and have recently acquired a 1999 SLK 230 K . It's a bit short on horses compared to the state side 'toys' but nonetheless fun to drive and the roof operation is 'fascinating' !
So far I have no issues, but it is good to hopefully have the support of this forum should things go wrong .

Welcome Bazza, you don't need too many horses to enjoy driving in Spain, I'm sure. Always nice to have the optional roof. I hope your air-con works nicely. Mine does and I'm often glad of it. You'll find this a friendly and informative forum.

I see you have the first gen R170 230K. They updated the 230K motor in 2000/2001 (?) that had a few more "horses" to play with. That one also got indicators in the side mirrors, colour-coded sills and improved the finish on the interior. They also changed the front bumper/foglights.

But I do like that colour, mine was a plain silver - a "default" Merc colour....

And an awesome backdrop!!!

NB. Keep an eye on the inside of your front tyres - they are susceptible of premature wear - on cursory inspection they can look absolutely fine!

As I found out only after getting under the car to drain the sump - I damn near shatt myself!!!
