Mystery Death

I have a e220 (1994) I left the car standing for two weeks whilst on holiday
I have just tried to start it but its completely dead. Nothing at all shows any life. The car has no imobilizer or other such feature and none of the lights were left on. I have tried jump starting and charging the battery but there is no life at all when I turn the key. I had the battery tested by two separate systems and it shows a charge of just over 12 volts. Any thoughts out there?

Do check the battery earth strap, also the engine earth strap, your first move is to get the headlamps and dash lights on when you turn the key

Maybe a failed ignition switch-I had that on an old Rover once.

Could well be that, but he should check the lights first
