Navigation has stopped working

Hi. I have a 66 reg C220 AMG saloon with premium plus which I bought from my local dealer in Feb 2020. Literally on the last day of its extended warranty, the navigation has stopped working. It will not activate.
After visiting the dealer, they have told me it will need a full software update which will take 3 hours and cost £180, and they dont know what caused it and cannot guarantee that the update will fix the problem. Has anybody else experienced the same issue? I'm more concerned that they dont know what caused it and dont know if it will happen again. Thanks.

If you're close to J3 M3 and cannot get out of spending money to get the problem fixed, I'd say stuff the stealer, go to comand.co.uk AKA Unique Car Sounds in Lightwater, Surrey, they've forgotten more about MB satnavs than any dealer will ever know!

Worth giving them a call as they may know someone trustworthy near you - also worth adding your approximate location to your profile so folk with local knowledge can give better assistance!

very few competent ones out there and not heard of any down that way, of course they'll be someone down there that could try and hit it with a stick and charge much the same as a main dealer.... and a very remote chance could be one half way competent
