Hi, this is my first post so hope below makes sense to someone.

My 2001 C220CDI avantgarde has an intermittant fault. This usually shows up about 2 minutes after start-up (and it's very precise as to the timimg - it always happens in the same place on the way to work).
I lose lights, wipers, indicators, a/c, radio etc. The engine keeps running and the interior lights come on. Does this suggest an alarm system problem? If I stop, turn off the ignition and restart it all comes back.
(Only) once the gearbox would not change out of second until I stopped and restarted.
It's intermittant - one week it happened 3 times, some months not at all.

Any advice on where to begin would be helpful - is it an MB garage only solution?

Hello and welcome. :D:D

This is electrical, possibly the ignition switch or something loose in the control boxes. what makes it worse is the fact that it only does it the once from a cold start, and this makes fault finding very hard, it could be an alarm fault, once again a bad connection somewhere

Sorry that we have nothing else to offer, I still think that the ignition switch could be the thing causing the problem

Try a different route to work!

It's just about feasible, that it's someones wireless router, or other electronic equipment?!

It's a thought, anyway, and you DID say it happens in the same place everyday!!!
