Need Garrett Turbo Number

Hi all,

It looks like I need a new turbo for my late 2002 w211 e220 cdi. Mercedes have quoted me £1355!!! I've rung around and there is a company is the UK that supply direct from Garrett, but they need the Garrett number for the turbo. Does anyone know what it is. Just to confirm my car is a late 2002 w211 220cdi with the 646.961 engine.

Their prices are half of what MB are asking!

If it helps, the mercedes number part number for the turbo is 6460900180.

Try Tait Turbos, Manchester, England. I have recommended them before for an engine the same as yours except it was the sprinter van application.

Here are the numbers on the turbo itself:

AL 0024GT18U
742693-2
S/MHLB 03475F
6460900180

I'm guessing the second number is the garrett number, although I can't find this number on any of the garrett websites listed above. The last number is the MB part number, which tallys with what MB are saying. Anyone have any idea where I can get this part from?

Try this link it should help re identification. I havn't used this company but the website is quite impressive and I kept the link for info, or, if I needed to replace the Turbo on my 320.
