I actually have a similar problem to another thread in this section, unfortunately I am unable to access the link that has already been posted so I need your help please.

I have just bought a Becker Silverstone 2662 CD changer, complete with the wiring (2 orange optical leads and a black wire, and a red wire) all these wires are in the connecter block that fits to the CD changer, then the orange wires are in a block that fits in a socket on my Audio 10 CD radio cassette, however I don't know where the seperate red and black wires are mean to go, can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me please?

Thanks in advance.

You need to user pins 4, 5 & 6 on the C terminal to connect the Changer.
Pin 6 is earth
Pin 4 & 5 are +12 V constant and switched but I'm not sure in which order.
You need them both as you will not be able to eject the cartridge with the ignition off otherwise.

Hi there,
sorry nobody answered your thread so far.
The colours of wires you say you have are not wot i would expect. I would expect to have a blue wake up wire for your cd changer and live and earth wires, three in total from the changer to the head unit plus the optic fibe leads.
Basically your changer needs a live and earth to power up, the for audio signals are carried through the d2b obtic fibre wires. And i thought a wake up wire from the head unit so the changer knows when it should be on or off, this is the blue wire.

The red wire you have will be your live and black should be earth but i will check 1ST

i will try and check this for you 2mora if no one eles can tell us exactly!!

Well, I have got a little further so the next question may be easier (I hope) The red and black leads are live and earth (I connected a 12v power supply to the CD Changer and ejected the cd cassette to check)

The car is a 2001 CLK (canbus?) does it need a wake up wire? if so how should I wire it in there is nothing there other than the live/earth and 2 fibre optic wires going into either plug, however I have no command and no other devices wired into the d2b? circuit, so would this work "as is"?

For information,
The plug that fits into the cd changer has 2 connectors installed for the red/black wires, as well as the 2 optical leads, the other end of the cable has just 2 wires waiting insertion into an empty connector block.

Well I managed to burn out a track on a circuit board and blow a fuse trying to do this myself, so I ended going to an electroniccs specialist who repaired the damaged pcb and sorted the CD changer for me.

It seems that since this is a straightforward canbus system and the only device on that circuit is the CD Changer I don't need a wake up wire, merelly a positive/negative connection (to the correct place) and the fibre optic leads.
