Did a scan while lights were on dash but no fault codes stored .. it comes on and then goes off after a whileHello and welcome
Have you had a new battery fitted lately? Other than that could be a faulty speed sensor?
Have you scanned for fault codes?
What did you use to scan for fault codes?Did a scan while lights were on dash but no fault codes stored .. it comes on and then goes off after a while
If the light is on there will be a code. You just need a scanner capable of reading it (a £20 cheap scanner or dongle won't do it).Did a scan while lights were on dash but no fault codes stored .. it comes on and then goes off after a while
Steering stiffness up and the rev range Gordy up and down but then goes back to normalDoes it drive ok?
Cheap Bluetooth OBD2 scannerWhat did you use to scan for fault codes?
Ah, there's your problem. You need something decent to read the codes. Cheap scanners just don't hack it. Many on here including me just recently, use one from the ICarsoft range. You can get a dedicated ICarsoft scanner for Mercedes or a multi manufacturer one like mine that does 10 Makes. This will read the stored code accurately. The general consensus is that it will be a wheel sensor - I had the ABS / ESP unavailable message my self only the other day which turned out to be a front wheel speed sensor fault..Cheap Bluetooth OBD2 scanner
It might just need cleaning.as all the above. If you dont want to shell out on a scanner, let a garage do the work, most will have a suitable scanner and insist on gen merc parts. Note the reluctor rings will need cleaning which is offen overlooked by a n other garages.
Thank you for the advice ..my first thought was a wheel sensor but not sure witch one it would beAh, there's your problem. You need something decent to read the codes.
