It would appear then that if you have a C209 or an A209, you have a model car. If you have a full size, real CLK, it is a W208 or w209.

Russ, if that's what you believe then so be it. I think you'll find that it's an A or a C - and that's not just because it's a model.

BUT, I may be wrong, it's just that a lot of stuff on Wikipedia is garbage. Try googling A208/9 or C208/9. Don't forget you can have a C124(coupe), a W124 (saloon) and an S124 (estate). Oh yes, and the A124 (cabrio).

If your friend's car is a Coupe and the VIN (in the corner of the screen) starts WDB 209, he has a W209.
