Your car, your choice...

But I'd stick with the 18's, or even 17's, if it was my decision..... ;)

Hi & Welcome,

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder, are you thinking of driving it or just looking at it?

Here is a site by Chris Murray, he has listed pretty much all the available options for wheels. This is his sales site.
One think to be aware of with Mercedes is that the wheels centre on the hub (Hubcentric) and not via the wheel bolts. Unless the aftermarket wheels are made for Mercedes then they will not centre on the hub without a spacer.

Why not meet in the middle and get 19" alloys? I've got them on an 2001 CLK and they fit fine. The ride quality is not as bad as you might think either. Just be careful with your offsets and tyre sizes and you should be ok (check the links Blobcat mentioned).

I contemplated 20" rims on mine too. I've seen C-Classes and CLKs fitted with 20s on lots of US car sites so it definitely can be done. The only problem tends to be that on some styles the width also increases. Then you run into problems with clearance on full lock and you'll almost definitely need to roll the arches to prevent rubbing. As it is I have to run 225 tyres on the front to prevent the tyre fouling the upper control arm bolt. I've got 235s on the back

I've got 19 x 8.5" wide all round. 8.5" is probably the maximum for the front. If you wanted you can probably go up to 9.5" wide at the back.
