Hi everyone!

Recently, friends strongly recommended me to use a metal varnish to protect the body of my car. I’m curious how one of you has ever had the opportunity to use such a product and what your experience has been.

I simply want to gather honest opinions and feedback. Did the metal varnish really make the difference in terms of protection and briillance for your vehicle?

If you have specific recommendations or favorite brands, I am all ears. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience, and good luck to all!

Blimey. Looks fearsome. Are you intending to repaint your car?

My immediate reaction is that you should find new friends.

Or do I misunderstand?

Good luck and I'm sure some others will be along soon. They probably know better than I.

Why not have. a go, and let us know how you get on ? Maybe just do a small unobtrusive patch to start with. Are you going to brush it on ? The boot lid might be a good place to start with, and if you like it, spread out from there. You can always remove it with thinners.

Sorry just noticed you have a nearly new E class. Please ignore the above. I have no idea why you would want to varnish a beautiful new car. What are you protecting it against ?

I would suggest a good coat of wax or maybe look at Ceramic coating your nice AMG.

Let your friends try the varnish on their cars..

hahahahhahahah

sorry should not laugh have never heard of that before.

People have used for many moons.

Metal varnish on a car - no way.

Perhaps you can show the product - it could be lost in translation

I have a 2011 212 E350CDI & I dont have any rust problems.
Unless you are thinking of keeping it for at least 12 to 15 years, I wouldn't even think about it.

I think that it would be okay on a fence, but likely to be obvious on car bodywork due to it's thickness, after all it's applied by brush.
I think that money would be better spent on a decent wax or have your car ceramic coated.
There are better products to use on the underneath of your car, the issue being that varnishes are rarely impact resistant and certainly wont give any rust protection.
