Need New Replacement Key

Sorry chaps, at this stage I can only offer questions not answers as I'm pretty new to Mercedes ownership.
I need a new key for my 2010 A-Class A160 Classic SE, I don't want to take out a mortgage at a Mercedes dealership.
Within the Leeds area or thereabouts. Oh, I have a tenner to spend.

I believe you're referring to a secondhand key. No, they can be quite troublesome. Used to read horror stories about those who had purchased transponder keys from ebay and the like, just a waste of money.

Spare for my w168 8 yr ago from Benz was 200 quid. Think you can use one from a breakers with the ring around ignition lock, which I understood recognizes the key, but get that confirmed by someone else.

150 plus vat. Not cheap but for a change if you loose, break it that ain't a makers fault.

Always amazes me the number of mums that give their keys to their offspring to keep them amused. If they knew they were giving them a £300+ delicate essential item to play with I wonder if they would think twice? Perhaps not

My son has lost a bunch of keys including a Mercedes key. He has the spare but wants to buy a replacement. ReplacementMercedesKeys is no use as they can only do C / E class up to 2013. Looks like he'll have to pay through the nose at a main dealers.

years ago, when my first daughter was a baby, my wife let her have the key to the Landrover Discovery we had, it got well and truly slimed, and then did not work !!!!, lucky enough, the key bit still worked to get her home.
Have you checked your insurance to see if you have lost key cover ?

Chaps, I've found a chap in Skipton North Yorkshire can do it for £120.
As soon as I get my jam jar back off I go to Skipton to have it done.
No pound notes shall change hands (or wallets) until all is good..

I think exactly the same when I see kids playing with their parents mobile phones.
