Need some help please - 2000Yr - S320 - To buy or not to buy

Hello guys,

Firstly I would like to apologize if I have posted this message in the wrong forum. Couldnt find anywhere else suitable to ask for all your views. Well im just planning to buy an S320 (always wanted too). I have put in an offer to the seller and He has accepted it. Just before collection, I would like to know what are the main things i need to know about the car, I have heard peoples stories on Cruise control, Electric seats, gear stuck, rust, but is there anything else i should look for before parting the cash. The car im looking at is a 2000 (August Manufactured) S320, No Sat Nav in it thou, but the rest is the normal, Cd players, Electric seats, Sunroof, etc. Its done 84000 Miles and has FSH - Dont know yet if its from MB or part MB.

Can Someone please tell me what potential problems I might be facing if i buy one and the things to check before taking ownership.

Hi Maki. I cant answer any of your questions because I dont' know anything about this model. I do believe though that there are some lady members who are owners and know heaps about these cars. I cant understand why at least one of them has not responded to your queries.

I'd say that the key thing with these cars is to make sure everything works properly, the dash lights up properly etc. Accept no faults as minor as many are a lot more expensive to put right than you'd think.
You don't say whether its a cdi or not. If not,make sure the plugs have been changed.
Also ensure that the gearbox oil and filters have been done. Not necessarily on the offical service schedule but essential all the same.
