I have no power at all in the battery. I need to open the boot which is only accessible via the boot release button inside the vehicle. I have no emergency key. can i get a jump start in any other way as battery is in the boot

Is there jump start point in engine bay? If not, also could connect + to starter + (and of course - to the ground)

If it's a W202 C class, then in the engine bay you have a small box like structure on the passenger side. It is black and has a cross shape on it like a scottish flag. You can flip the top on this to reveal some terminals and this is where you attach the positive or red cable for your jump leads. The other lead just needs to touch a nut or bolt on the car body to complete the circuit. You should hear the vacuum pump go (if you have someone in the car to press the boot release) and the boot should open.

You can also with a booster pack, place the earth wire on an earth(bolt, nut),open up the fuse box under the bonnet, look for the fuse for the central locking system, touch the live of the booster pack to the fuse and you can then power up the central locking system, and if you have the boot release button on the key fob, it should open the boot,
as I stupidly disconnected my battery while doing work on my clk,and then stupidly closed the boot lid before reconnecting the battery. This is how I got my boot opened again

On cars with no jumper / charging points you can also look in the fuse boxes for a blank where no fuse is fitted,,in one side of the fuse holder you will see the contact and not one on the other side, just touching a live 12v from a battery charger will often power the system so that they remote works.
