Hi,
I have been quoted by Mercedes main dealer to carry out following service:
1) sign of osr brake overheating - £ 282
2) caster arms bushes split and caster arm rubber boots damaged - £315
3)exhaust fowling bumper - £440
4)replace rear springs corroded - £333

All the prices including labour and VAT. It would be great if you can give an advise about those prices as this is my first experience to take my C200K W203 to service as I've just bought this car 3 months ago. To be honest they make me headache to think about the money to be spent.

Cheers

SHam,

As Malcolm, where are you located? An independent dealer will do this for a lot less and may do a better job.

Hi Malcolm,
I live in Oxford. I have tried to find any independent garage around my area but I couldn't found any. I would like to get my car reapaired for brake overheating and change the rear spring. How much do you reckon they will cost me for both to get done.

Hope to get feedback from you and others soon.

Thanks.

Try M40 cars in Thame - they only do BMW and Merc. I have used them and they are fine for mechanicals and have couresy cars. They do not have Star for diagnostics so I would go to Star in the future for electrical stuff but Readings a 45 min drive....

Hi Simon,
Thanks for a quick reply. How much do they charge for labour an hour? Do you reckon they can fix the overheating break and rear spring less than what I have been quoted?

Anyway, what is actually STAR means?

Hope to get a feedback soon from you and others and I do really appreciate your help.

Thanks
