hi Guys,

im new to the forum - i hope everyone is well :)

i wanted to ask.. im very interested in buying a Mercedez Benz c200k

one exactly like the one in the following link:

what i would liek to know from people who already own one of these is the good and points of the car..

anything i need to be aware of when goiing to see one..?
common faults at around the 80k mileage?
mpg for a 2litre one?

any other useful information would be Greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome,,I will say have it checked for any rust around the rear wheel arches and the boot, also the front wings

hi mate,

well spotted... yeh i have read that rust is a maqjor issue on these cars..

i guess if i get that professionally treated... should be fine right?

what about mechanically? engine? electrics?

any issues with the auto gear box or maybe parts of the engine desigh?

any commets on MPG? good on petrol or does it drinkkkk?:confused:

As for Malcolm, sadly, the rust issue is all too well known, and there is no Silver Bullet which could guarantee a lasting fix.

If you are not yet committed to buying this car I would counsel that you let it go and find a more recent model after they started galvanizing (try a search on the Forum, there is lots of info).

W203 enthusiasts would also prefer you to go for a "post face lift" car (again, try searching) as these carry a number of advantages and as they are now a couple of years old, the price differentials are not that great. But if you know what you are looking for, you will get a much better car.
