But I did, and being vigilant of two young chaps while selling the 55. All I can say it, we'll done scum, you manged to pour used engine oil into my radiator header tank and water into the oil filler cap, and pour there oil down onto the exhaust manifold with seconds of me getting the car out of the garage. Of course I get the hard sell line to sell to these scum, and they got very cross when I would sell.
Now I'm faced with an engine flush and goodness know what else.
Little do they know, I have them on dash cam!

Report to the police

I’d recommend you point out the cctv to any prospective purchasers as they arrive.

Hmmm…one of the oldest dirty tricks, trying to make you sell your car far more cheaper than you think ( should I sell the car now or should I fix it and sell it later for the right money…that’s what they try to put in your mind). Sorry for what happened to you

Sorry to hear about this and just the brashness of them doing it. If I ever did anything like that I’d expect the innocent person to open a can whup ass.

Even more reason to reject any more than one or two individuals at most and call the call as and when they can look around it front to back.

Thanks guys, I was quite weary of the 2 chaps, but it was so quick. Had my back turned for less than 10 seconds. Unfortunately I had the battery disconnected so car wasn't locked.
I called my Indy friend and told him what happened. He had been caught out too in the past, as did Chris on here.
When I sold the green/black SL on ebay had 5 turn up, while I was at the engine with bonnet open all the time, then was called to look at something in the exhaust. I shut the bonnet and walked towards the rear, the chap walked away. This was after the test drive. However they still bought it for the winning bid.
I'll recover it to LG Motors ltd and get Gilles to work his magic.

barstewards .... hope you get it sorted OK

Yes, they certainly were, but best was they didn't get my car, it wasn't for sale as soon as I saw the used oil over the manifolds and then removing the radiator cap.
He wasn't happy, keep telling engine will cost £8500 to fix. I kept saying, it now not for sale as broken.....yes but I have engine for it he said......they were starting to get angry, so I said not for sale, for the last time. Then they scoffed off.
They were quite professional scum, I'll give them that.
Only annoyed with myself for getting caught out, I'm the professional scumbag, or I might be losing my touch

This is why we need laws like the USA, shoot the scum on the spot.

Absolute no deterrent for criminals of any type.

Totally agree.
I think this was premeditated as I'm sure their brand newish BMW was a hired car. Looked in their very early twenties, so not the kind of car young people could afford to insure I thought.

Don’t start it. Lots of towels and remove the coolant header tank. Take it away from the car and properly wash it out. The oil floats on top, so as long as you don’t circulate it it will stay out of the engine. You probably know this ;)

Thank you Uncle Benz.
Unfortunately the car was started, reversed out and left idling for about 2 minutes, then saw the smoke coming out through the bonnet and wing and switched off.
I don't think the thermostat would have opened in than short period??
I'll remove the header tank tomorrow as the car is at the my other workshop.

Be careful about using anything to try to flush it out. The two O rings that seal the timing cover to the engine block are all ageing now, and you don’t want to finish them off. Leave it overnight and hopefully it’ll all rise to the top. Do the header tank removal first, then drain the cooling system. Refill with plain water and run it up to temp. Let it cool and assess what’s floating in the top of the header tank. If necessary repeat a few times. Please resist the temptation to chuck anything caustic in it. I fear you’ll do it more harm than good.

If so, hire company will have details, and even if fake ID was used, likely have CCTV footage!

Hope you can rectify without too much grief!

On the dash cam footage, Black HiBrid BMW reg YK23VBR. Blacked out rear window's. Gangsters car?
Beware this car....
Hire car? Plus I now think there were 3 people in this car. I remember one guy was inside, I was at the door way, the other was relieving himself. But the BMW that was just parked behind Money Pit was suddenly gone o_O The guy relieving then started yelling to someone in his native tongue at the end of the building, which I thought was strange.
Of course, a 3rd scumbag which I never saw.
