New 320 owner - bluetooth confused!?!

Just bought an 04 320cdi and loving it. i've got the all the phone buttons, command module and steering wheel, but can't get the phone to work.

Messsage is "No Phone". My question is...if youve got all these buttons does that mean bluetooth should work? ...or is it an option?

If it is an option can I get the car upgraded, so the phone can work?

Searched the forums, couldn't find any info. Thanks bakes.

You need a bluetooth adapter that sits in the armrest where the cradle might go...

..and the cradle only goes there is the car has telephone pre-wiring, which was quite an expensive option.

Does your armrest have a separate top compartment with a connector near the front? If yes, then you have the UHI pre-wiring so you you just need either a fixed phone cradle or the bluetooth adaptor.

The bluetooth built into COMAND doesn't seem to do anything - I've seen people say it works with a headset but that's no use without a phone!
