New ABC Pump needed SL500 R230

Can anyone please advise on cost to replace the ABC Pump & recommend a place I can buy one from?

Mercedes do rebuilt ones for £500 or so apparently.
Make sure you flush the entire system several times and also replace the filter twice (once at start of flushing and again at the end). You don't want pieces of the failed pump floating around in the ABC oil.

Whats the job like to do replace the pump? Engine out or in-situ?

in situ, 2-3 hours including flush/filter afterwards. Replace the damper hose on the back as well whilst you are there, as it will be dead and not working at that age.

These refurbished units make the whole thing much less daunting. Alex's estimate of 2-3 hrs labour makes this repair seem affordable. You can't drive a car like this and expect no running costs. The ABC gives such a wonderful ride. If it lasts 18 yrs, it's good value.

Don't forget the cost of Pentosin, for the W215 they recommend flushing with huge amount.
For some reason 18 litres springs to mind. I assume that he R230 will be similar.
