Hello Paul,

I have a 2001 CLK200k and the same thing happened to mine. I got it tested by a local garage. They didn't really have the MB testing equipment but said it looked like a misfire. Anyway, they erased the memory so that the light went out and it's kinda been fine ever since. By that i mean the light hasn't come back on. However, i haven't really been pushing it. It's going in for a service next week so i'm going to wait until that's been done before taking it out for a good run. I've also changed the spark plugs and coil packs.

Let us know how you got on, i'd like to know what your diagnosis was.

Cheers,

LS.

In both of these cases the MAF needs cleaning or replacement, that cures 97% of engine management lamp faults. The reason it throws up fault codes is that this filter makes other components deviate from their stored memory
