I purchased a (hood/bonnet) fin chrome kit (Proper MB) for my SLK several years ago and it came with sandpaper for roughening, some sort of solvent for cleaning and a proper adhesive.

I purchased an OEM spoiler for my SL and it came with DS tape installed and alcohol wipes to prep the surface.

Unfortunately it was a statement. Boot badge for a lowly W204. Ironically bought to replace some crap fake AMG stuff that was put on the car in previous ownership

The letters I’ve had from Mercedes all had tape on the back. They were fixed to a backing sheet. I put masking tape across the front to keep them spaced then cleaned the bodywork and applied them.

Which is what I expected. Bit disappointed really that I now have to try and use messy contact adhesive
