Hello world,

just got my first merc a few days ago. A 2005 C180 K

I have been trying to figure out the multi function display.. At the bottom of the screen it shows the current speed, then the time and lastly the status of the auto gearbox... Mine shows the current speed in KPH , I have fiddled with the settings for ages but cant find any way of changing it to MPH .
any ideas anyone ??

Secondly, I am not crazy about the interior trim, which is plain steel,
Is it possible to change for wood effect ??

Thanks in advance, I dare say I will be a frequent visitor here

The display can be changed to show outside temp instead of kph (UK mode deletion). This has to be done using STAR coding.

One or two of us have replaced the alu-linear trim try a search for Birds-eye maple.

Hi Mr Nemesis,

thanks for the advice, where did the maple trim pieces come from ?? and are other shades available.. could a total old duffer like me fit it ??

You mentioned that kph can be replaced by outside temp... but cant it be replaced by Mph ??

Lastly I wonder if brake caliper covers are available or my car... the original ones are so visible and look real manky.

Wood trim came from MB dealer. There are a number of different types of wood available. Just check out the cars in the showroom, many of the types are still available.

It's not too difficult to replace oneself, a bit of care and courage!!

I don't think one can display mph in the lower segment. Why would you want to? You can display a large digital speedo in the upper section.

Reards the calipers, I've never seen covers for MB brakes

You could always paint them with special paint, available from many car factors
