What can be the problem is it the type of discs??

If they have been greased correctly then the squeak should be minimal for the first few miles

drove out of the garage today and they were fine all greased properly, the screeching only starts after about 15 mins of driving as if its when the brakes heat up me and the mechanic (thats now been 2 merc mechanics) are totally bemused

Do give it a few miles to bed in.

The screeching is resonance, that sets up within the pads, once the disc and pads surfaces have bedded in it should go

MB say the the piston faces should be greased rather than the pads,,but I have done the pads as a matter of practice.

One must remember that the Brake supplies to MB are the same as for most other cars

screeching when braking

Hi All

I had the discs and pads replaced on my C230K just a week ago and there is no evidence of screeching, rather the contrary, braking is both quiet, progressive and smooth. After 100 miles the braking is still impressively quiet and powerful. No/little bedding is was necessary.

Would the noise generated by an ML270 be any different than another Mercedes vehicle? I tend to think not.

REGARDS

Phil
