Parts co are in all main towns, or GSF both very cheap.paldy-tdi said:Can anyone point me in the right direction for new brake pads and for reasonable money?
Thanks
I think that you are being a little harsh here Nick, the laws on brake pads has been tightened up, they have to meet the standards, even to the point that once the box has been opened, they cant be sold on. Some of the specialist brakes like EBC are better than the originals.Bolide said:If you want to save about £10, and don't care about how well the brakes work, go to a parts factor
If you want the car to stop properly (ie the way Mercedes designed it) then go to a dealer. I paid about £35 for the last set I bought
I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to buy a cheap copy of the second most critical part of a car

I don't know Malcolm, from the world of Motorcycling no aftermarket pads come close to the originals. People do fit them of course because the OE pads are so much more expensive. The OE ones are matched to the discs and feel and brake better than any of the pattern ones.television said:I think that you are being a little harsh here Nick, the laws on brake pads has been tightened up, they have to meet the standards, even to the point that once the box has been opened, they cant be sold on. I really don't see an issue with speding the ££'s on MB pads and discs for that matter. The cost difference is almost insignificant.
