Just to say I have joined the MBO club today even though I am on my 3rd Mercedes! I originally had an E class 30 years ago as Company car and for the last 3 years, after I retired, I have had an SLK200 R171 as my "Day" car and a TVR Chimaera (which I owned for 10 years) as my Summer car. But needs must and as of yesterday I sold my Chimaera and SLK and have bought an SLK AMG R172 which will have to do as both my Day and Summer car, which I think it will do nicely!! My only challenge now is how to carry the luggage we used to in the Chimarea!!

I have ordered some Roadster luggage from Koffer24.de although the bag for the spare wheel recess is of no use as I have the Bluetec container in there, still never mind

When I worked in the Vehicle Contract Hire industry we had a Cerbera on the fleet. My god, that thing cost us a fortune, I don't think we had a more unreliable car in our 10,000 vehicle fleet. The worst thing was that when the bluddy thing broke down, which was pretty regularly, the customer insisted on the same car as a relief vehicle. I wouldn't have one even as an ornament

Welcome the wife had two 171 SLK200's both very reliable.
She now has a 172 SLC250d, again very pleased.

Well all I can say, from my experience, is that my old Chimaera, for 10 years took us to Italy (lake Como, Stelvio pass, Venice, Rome, Naples), France and Germany and never missed a beat. I guess I was lucky but it was maintained well and only used in the Summer. Still it’s the SLKs turn now

Can I ask does your wifes SLC have the Audio 20 system? Does it support voice control of the mobile phone by pressing the speech button for 2 seconds to invoke Siri or Alexa? I just cant get my system to do it. I dont know if I hasve the basic Audio 20 system or Comand. TRied lookin g at Utube but they suggest holding the speech button. At present I have to invoke Siri by saying "Open Siiri".
