New C180 owner

This is my first post on this forum, I have bought my first Merc, a very clean and well maintained C180 Elegance manual gearbox.
I have run french diesels for the last 12 or so years, I have been told that I should be able to achieve 30 mpg, by the dealer, is this right, I dont drive the car hard

I have just changed from a C180 Auto to a C250TD, the C180 would do around 26-28mpg on short, local town driving. Did manage upto 35mpg on a few long trips taking it easy. Trouble with the C180 is that you have to use the revs to get it to move briskly :lol:

I used to return around 28mpg doing short 5 mile journeys in my C180 auto. I did nowever notice that using supermarket fuel my comsumption droped a couple of miles, so I tended to just stick to my local Shell station which was the same price.
