- Sold - 2021 CLA 35 Premium.
Hi guys,
My name is Ronnie, I am 53 years young and live in the county of Fife in Scotland....although I am not a native, being born and raised just outside Glasgow.
I have had quite a few brand new cars over the past 8 years - 2x Mk.3 Focus ST, Honda Civic Type R FK8, and most recently Audi S3 Saloon. I always join owners forums to make friends and share and receive information/advice/help etc. Most have been very friendly places and I am still an active member of 2 of them.
I picked up my very first Mercedes on Friday 26th June - CLA 250 Premium Plus in Polar White.
The car still only has 46 miles on the clock so I am very much at the learning stage with it....and there is A LOT to learn! This is the most tech laden car I have ever owned. I always prefer to look at the owners manual first before asking questions, but I anticipate that there will be a need to ask questions about this car.
I was immediately impressed by the new CLA's looks when it was announced last year and initially had my heart set on a CLA 35, but price rises even before it was released put it just out of my affordable price range....also I just couldn't stomach the extortionate rip off road tax(VED). I am delighted with my CLA 250 though, and have chosen the red/black interior which I think looks awesome.
There is just one thing I am a little concerned about which I hope does not become a bigger problem... While driving and the speed rises above 50/55mph there is an annoying and constant whistling noise which seems to be coming from around the windscreen/roof/mirrors. I have never experienced this on any other car so its certainly not what I would expect from a Mercedes. It is quiet and refined at all other times.
I have booked the car in for them to take a look at it.
I usually pay to become a full member of owners forums which is normally £10-£20, but I see this site is quite a bit more at £30....so if people can persuade me it is worth it I will certainly consider joining.
Anyway, I look forward to being a member regardless.
