I was invited to the new E Class Launch at my local dealers on 14th August 02.
It really is a magnificent machine. I already have my order in for a new E320 CDI Avantgarde and expect it in January 03.
The spec for the E320 CDI Avantgarde is really something else and it has 204hp and 500 Nm at 1800-2600 rpm.
Anyone else seen it yet and what do you think of my choice.

I'm considering a E270 Avantgarde for my next car. I agree with you Brian it really is a wonderfull machine.

Does anyone have any comments on driving these cars with a manual? I

A manual is not a good idea unless you have three legs. Imagine the comotion of coming to a hault on a steep hill with the foot operated parking brake.

Thats not quite true, I admit its kinda weird to begin with but once you get used to putting it in neutral b4 putting on the handbrake its fine.

I would even go as far as to say that I actually prefer it to a normal handbrake now.

Thanks for the comments. Someone in my office has a manual C180 and said a similar thing, you get used to putting it in neutral first and that they prefer it now they are used to it.
