Hi there, I have a new (3000Kms) E350T shipped from Stuttgart with EU specs to the UAE in May 2005. The car runs like an angel once it has started. The real pain is the first start (supposed to be electronic) when engine is cold. The engine starts only after a couple of seconds, followed by either the red message: "Visit workshop" or "Convenience functions temporarily unavailable", and frequently the engine sign lights and stays on. If I turn the engine off and start again, it usually starts OK. Also, when re-starting while the engine is still hot it starts fine. This may also have something to do with outside temperature as it happens more often when the car is left outside (sometimes 40 degrees in the shade). However, the engine should work properly also in the Middle East?? Fuel pump has been changed without any effect.
