2022 GLA 220d 4Matic PP Covid edition
New owner of a nearly new (500 miles only) GLA 220d 4matic Premium Plus.
Car is not so Premium or Plus, should be called a "Covid Edition":
Missing items that were standard equipment on this model two years ago -
1. electric from seats
2. electric boot
3. front camera, so no augmented reality navigation for me
4. wireless charging
5. pretty sure the stereo is only the cheapo 100w system rather than the 220w system normally fitted.

Of course the dealer never pointed out any of these, but I did notice the more obvious missing features. The prospective buyer is left to compare the 80-odd item specification of the offered car with the standard equipment list for this model. Disengenuous charlatans. I should really take it back, but who wants to order and wait a year or so for a car that will more than likely still be missing some or all of these features?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I sympathise, as my smns 2022 CLA 250e Premium Plus arrived devoid of elcteric memory seats, power boot, premium sound system, wireless charging. etc.

They did add the "Night Edition" pack for free, but atill diasappointing.

Did you get Night Edition?

I wasn't advertised as such but it comes up as a Night Edition on the Mercedes Me app on my phone.

Mercedes GLC300 2021
Quite a few cars have been arriving without some parts due to the chip shortage, as it’s not new check what it was advertised with to see if you have any reason to complain about the dealer.

I had a new C300 on order but cancelled it as I decided that advancing years required a car that allowed easier entry/exit.

I was looking for a GLC300 with saddle brown leather interior, there were hardly any cars available throughout the U.K.

I managed to find one in Blackburn around 5 hours from me and paid a deposit site unseen other than the dealership did me a personalised video with a firm promise that the car was spotless.

During my search many of the sales agents were unsure what cars had what equipment especially augmented reality they had to specifically check each car I was interested in.

I was lucky my car was a lockdown car but had nothing missing but I did check beforehand that the car was fully equipped with no omitted equipment.

I am not sure that a salesman would specifically tell you about missing fittings.

As I’m the only driver the electric memory package would not bother me too much, likewise electric tailgate, I do like the augmented reality and the premium 600 watt sound system.

The GLA is a lovely car so with only 500 miles you have virtually a new car just enjoy it the missing items will soon not matter.

BMW motorcycles are now sending new bikes out without LED lights, promising to retrofit them later.
No intention of ever buying a BMW bike so it won't effect me.
Hope you enjoy your GLA?

Yes, come with halogen now… not the intelligent lighting LED system I have - which is by far the best motorcycle lighting I’ve ever ridden behind

I’ll swap you a fully loaded S Class with night vision if you fancy ;)

Difficult to figure out as it resembles the currently listed GLA 220d 4Matic AMG Line Premium but with a sunroof. It's not the drug-dealer spec "Night edition" as it doesn't have black wheels, roof rails or window surrounds.
I reckon I got a few grand off whatever it would cost new,and a bit bumped off their GAP insurance, which is OK given the circa one year wait times for new GLAs and the tendancy for them to arrive with missing features.
The stereo is definitely the cheapo 6 speaker version instead of the more normally fitted 9 speaker stereo, although "Daily Driver" on Youtube reckons the base stereo is pretty good
It's the upgraded stereo I will miss most, along with the tailgate (I'm a hobbit so it's a reach to pull it back down). The salesman had been with the dealers in Blackburn for a whole two weeks and didn't seem to know much about the car.
When I was looking, there were four cars of similar spec with that dealer chain. The three less than one year old have all sold quickly. The remaining two year old one (which has all the standard features) at the Bolton branch is still for sale and is a bit overpriced IMHO.
I'm enjoying the car, especially after waiting ten months for a new Jaguar E-pace only for the build to be cancelled four weeks before it was due to be built.

For me it would really be a anti climax, and would really take the shine of the excitement of buying new, I would have cancelled it, and either bought a run about until all the chip shortage issues get resolved, and then place an order, or bought nearly new with all the options I wanted.

Appreciate it’s a tough choice, and can understand one waits a long time for the new car arrival, it arrives with missing options, and then one doesn’t want the waiting process to re start, but for me without the options I want, would just kill the enjoyment of the car.

Sorry missed the part that it was nearly new, did you not notice these options missing, prior to purchasing?
