Just about to part with my hard earned cash for a 2000 CL500, 99k looks very clean.

BUT!!!! there's got to be things you guys know about the CL that I don't, would appreciate your advice on what to look for.

Welcome to the forum, yes you have good taste in choosing one of the most expensive car, that MB have made, just make sure that everything works, and to do that you need to understand what the car has, both as standard and extras. Do make sure that there are no rust issues any where, so take your time in looking it over.
