I remember the days when there was a Redex gun beside each fuel pump so that you could add a shot (price 1d.) for every gallon of fuel, but thought that the detergents added to fuel by the refiners had made other additives superfluous these days?

Chevron have a new injection cleaner on the market, its had extensive test around the world. There is one for petrols and another for diesels

Called Techron the diesel version is good for regular diesel and Biodiesel.

The petrol version works on broad range of petrol and ethanol fuels.

No mention of any additives like the Millers

mal what sort of price are we lookin at ...

fanfare playing has it done anything?

Already seems smoother, less smoke, will keep updated as the rest goes through the car

I bought some Redex from Costco and I've used it in a few tankful's.

There is no noticeable difference in performance or economy so far, but if it cleans the injectors etc, then that's good enough for me.

My petrolhead brother said that 5th Gear (I think) did some off the shelf performance enhancement measures and the Redex gave the single largest improvement.

A few quid well spent I hope.

I think that most of these things work in the same manner, the one that I put up is an alternative one, the thread also brings to members attention that there are things out there that can do some good.

Well if it smells like it and looks like it it probably is millas under a different trade name, you know the old story, why reinvent the wheel, when you can buy it in bulk and stick your name on it.

I have done around 30 miles with a full bottle in half a tank of fuel
no difference but it was a smooth drive anyway
but then I realised I only had my injectors reset and put back to standard a few weeks ago when the pump delivery seals were done

will now leave it a few months and try the millers again as I thought it smelt and looked exactly the same

I have done about that and it is definately smoother, poured it into just over 1/4 tank, seems to pull better as well, will see how it goes, the Millers I used before was good and did make a difference.

3 days into the use of this and seems to be going well engine is a little more refined and does pull nicely now too, I had a terra clean last year (18 months ago ish) and I think using this every few months should really keep any build up at bay.

I put it in a about three quarters of a tank and have used about a further quarter of a tank so I would say it worth the few pounds and much better value than a terraclean

I've used Forte and was very pleased with it- - mpg rocketed with it as did refinement. I haven't used the stuff TV has posted,

out of curiosity how long did it last before mpg & refinement dropped?

the prob with addatives is just that they are added to the fuel so are less efficiant ( watered down) with the terra clean it disables the fuel from the car and uses more powerful agent of which you could not add to the tank as it will kill the fuel float etc hence the reason of running the system for 15 mins then a soak then another 15 mins .
