New Ipod...but???!!!

Will the new ipod (5th gen) announced yesterday fit the ipod integration kit made by our precious mercedes?!

dunno. I bought my 4th Gen last week. I wasn't dissappointed by the video news this week as I couldn't think what video I'd watch on it. The fotos are too small, yet alone a tv prog or movie. And you can't watch the video in the car until BenzNL comes up with a COMAND hack.

Would you really want to watch Top Gear on your iPOD? You'd need a bigger screen and a lot more memory I think - which may come I spose.

Well my first iPod had terminal battery failure and the second has just had disc failure....

So I will never find out whether I can conect an iPod to my C43.

I have other uses for it though - mainly involving fire, water, long drops from great heights or insertions into bodily orrifices of Apple employees.

So one less techie toy for me

I don't see any reason why the 5G iPod wouldn't work in the kit. It has the same connector and the iPod OS is not modified apart from the ability to dispay video.

I'll try it out soon, I'm due to exchange my 20Gb 4G Photo for one of teh new 30Gb Video models.

but I spoke to merc international and they informed me that the 5th generation i-pd is NOT compatible and furthermore have no plans to upgrade the integration kit.
So I am going to buy a 4th gen with £50 off from John Lewis...

I might hold onto my 4G model then.

I work in the computer/Apple industry and I should have some of the 5G iPods in next week. I'll test it myself to see if it works or not.

Only I have just bought a 60gb 4 gen version, havent opened it yet...I want the video ipod but only if it works on integration...
