New key..... Cost?

I only have one key for my 2004 CLK240 and it's being held together with electricians tape. Can anyone give an idea of cost and time it takes to purchase a new key?

Ouch! Thanks for the info, I'll contact the nearest MB Specialist which is in Glasgow and dealership in Ayr and see what they say.

For sheer convenience I used the local MB Dealer - cost £240.08 all in.

A point to note, I was having trouble with locking the drivers door. But this problem has disappeared since using the new key.

£150 for a clone . Thats what I've paid for my last 2 keys. No software after 2014 though. So thats put an end to that.

Not strictly true, its more like, no hardware available, after 14 or 17 depending on what car.

Either way there's no chance of a key .

There are rumblings a foot, I would exepect that to change in the next 6 months or so.

Entry cost will be in the 10's though

My new car came with 2 keys . For a change I dont need another . E320 needed a key. Cls needed a key. C250 came with 1 key , 2015 so it was a no go.

Key makers will over the moon if mb release the rights i guess . Lots of £££ to be made.

That will never happen, always a cat/mouse game. Keys are a pain though!
