It may just require syncronising to the car. If you bought this from the dealers I would have expected them to do it for you.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
To re sync;;
Point the remote at the car and briefly pressing the lock or unlock button.
Within 30 sec turn the key to position 2 in the steering lock.
your blood presure will now drop to normal ;-) so enjoy some topless motoring.
this info is for a 129064 car

Thanks Malcolm that did it and we have a 129067 car - the key came from a dealer some hundreds of miles away where the storeperson is a family friend:) so the price was good but it came with no instructions as how to sync to the car.

Cheapskate!!! How do you expect MB Glasgow to survive if you don't give them large amounts of your hard earned cash at every opportunity.
Cheers, Geo.:rolleyes:

I DID honest after taking the dream machine for a wee drive one weekend :) :D :p i spotted a wee stone chip in one of the wheel arches :( :shock: :confused:

So i went in and bought a touch up pen from MB Hamilton ;) BUT ONLY because i did not know the colour of the car - amazingly from the local MBStealer it was almost the same as from Halfrauds.

However i did ask about service prices and was very surprised about how 'little' they wanted for a total check over and a major service. THEN i asked about what that included MMMMMM NO oil, filters, sparkplugs, brake fluid etc. Now that could have been a very very expensive mustake. Still has the best PPPF of almost any car i have driven though no bills big or small yet - fingers and all other parts of my body tightly crossed - except when driving the car of course.
