I have heard that to get a new key it can be expensive. Can anyone advise me on how to get a duplicate key at reasonable cost??

You can only get a new key from an MB dealer, nothing else will work

Hi,
I enquired today from My Local MB in Leicester and it was £142+vat Doh !!!

Also you will need to take Driving Licence, Log book, Utility bill with your current address on that match the log book, you also have to go in the car and pay up front.

My old key is broken and I find it very difficult to open and close the doors. I have replaced the battery but it is no better.

Hi,
If it is just the plastic casing of your key thats U/S you could buy a key of off e-bay and replace the electronics from yours.

It will be the best £150 u have ever spent, i had a similar key to yours , it wouldnt lock or open unless i was beside the car. it meant physically going outside at night to check if the think was locked or not.. and when i got a new key ahhh magic i can now lock or open it from almost a mile away...the only thing that worries me... when leaving it and walking away ..what if i inadvertantly press the open button and unlock the car?????

Did you know that you can open your car using your mobile phone if you have locked your keys in the car?

If your car has the IR feature and your phone has IR capability then unlocking is theoreticly possible.

But you will need the correct programme in the phone!

Never heard where you can get one.
