New member hi just joined for technical help with cars and help others if I can

Can anyone tell me how to get into the boot of a w220 280 model with dead battery please .... ive looked in engine bay no battery posts and been in footwell and no junction box to try to put some power in it so stuck and car stranded after smash needs front end rebuild.
Main issue though is getting the powers back so any pointers would be really appreciated

Hello and welcome

Use the metal key from the key fob in the keyhole by the boot release handle.

If it hasn’t been used much (if ever) then the lock will most likely be jammed up so work it back and forth with plenty of lubricant spray.

May sound daft but if you have something that will vibrate (electric toothbrush or similar) use that on the key while turning in the lock, the vibrations can help free things up

Can I say a big thank you to all for help finally got into boot this morning I’d forgotten what it looked like it been stood for all through lockdown since feb. So hope full getting the car back home tonight to get started on rebuild I’ve got a full bonnet grill and badge off eBay for £1 I couldn’t believe it then a bumper for £30 and a mount for another £30. Then there’s one air suspension bag needs charging along with ball joint and she’ll be back on the road feelin like a million dollars !! So again that’s for all advice .......the rear key was seized !!!

Hi can anyone tell me is there 2 types of sat nave that fit the w220 as I’ve got an old one but seen a totally different one on eBay that’s says it’s out of a w220 S600 my one is an base S280

I believe so... facelift ones got a later system. Both are old and work off a fairly clunky can bus they no longer use. Mapping for both stopped in 2012 or so
