Hello,
I've just joined after finding the site though a search for drains for the R230 SL.
I'm in Devon, UK & have owned my 2003 SL600 for 18 months, gradually bringing it back to full working order.
I look forward to gleaning & contributing info.

Drains for an R230... @00slk might have some knowledge...


I'd probably recommend something like this...

Drains????? Most of the rain drains into mine
There are quite a few drain holes in the r230
The main one is inside the front left heater intake, that needs to be kept clear. They block up and fill with water which over flows into the cabin.
There are 4 drain holes which are visible when the roof is down which are at the rear of both 1/4 windows in the rubber seal.
Other drains are the boot and rear screen seals which weren't supplied by the factory until the car was out of warranty

Thanks for the comprehensive reply, the foam underneath the carpet is wet, all drains are clear, but the metal strip below the rear window is rusted, the boot is dry. When I took the car to the local specialist for another repair they told me all SL's leak.

Most SL's leak but mine doesn't because I pay special attention to the drains. I believe there are 7, if you find more let us know.

Hi and welcome. The 230 when it runs right is an absolute pleasure to own. The V12 is in my view the pick of the bunch. Rapid and a bit understated.
